segmentation is very vital for a salesman.you whole startegy is made depending upon the segment you focus on.for e.g suppose few people are suffering due to fever but it can be that i will have dengue the other may have viral or one may have malaria.so the doctor checks the symptom and gives medicine after observing the disease one has.so the treatment in each case is different and same goes with segmentation
For any organisation to climb up the sucess ladder is to bring clarity on thier objectives. W.R.T sales, without knowing the sales potential geographically , any organisation cannot even think of revenue. And in order to capture the share either 100 % or less, Segmentation of market is verymcuh essential. Morever Sales person can focus on his role and carry on his attack very effectively
segmentation is a lens through which population of customers is viewed. Market segmentation is a process of dividing the market into homogeneous groups of customers who respond similarly to a particular marketing mix of 4p's the essential tactical tools for positioning the firm's offer to the targeted segment. Problem is too much reliance on marketing mix & so unable to create percieved differentiation. Differentiation is critical to create distinguish benefits that are sustainable & avoid commoditization.
Here we teach segmentation and typology - segmentaton is downward, typology is upward. riteria for segmentation are bjective independant of the psychology teven if you use psychoogy after) though typology groups the persons that have the same habits in there living and buying that make quite a difference in a psychologic point of view.
Segmentation supposes and typology observes that wahy morphopsychology can help also
segmentation simply means grouping individual customer in to groups.why unless u dont know who is ur customer u cant direct ur marketing effort in a right direction its simply means u dont know where these path will take u wats ur destination.if u know ur destination is shimla prob u will take along with u some winter cloths right so same way wen u know ur customer are group of business class den u will not give ads in some local newspaper instead in yellow newspaper means business newspaper n hence forth cutting down ur cost n bringing efficiency n effectiveness in ur efforts.
these days product is created on faction basis. popular brands are heading towards diversification of existing names which is popular among users .if sales person is aware of the kind of customer base it has to serve then such a knowledge can add to their possibilities of making a succesfull sales.as it is known that different set of customer follows different kind of psycology .one can't sell a product to a child in same way as of a women.various set of customer requires assortment of persuasion techniques .so its important to have a segmented strategies for segmented products for luring segmented recipients.
