There have been a whole lot of deliberations and debates on the priorities of the new Government. The mandate, the manifesto, the-could-have-done-but-for-left list, the bills, the 100 days agenda and a whole lot of issues have become a kind of positive smoke screen, yet making the real picture of what India will do, a bit hazy. Once we take all the ground realities concerned (which are indifferent to the so called mandates and manifestos), how does the intersection of Can Do and Will Do netting the Can't Do immediately look like? It is something like adjusting the 2010 reality to 2020 vision. Or getting a percentage of performance most likely over the known expectations already priced in by investors and articulated as possible by various constituencies that are much better informed than the political constituencies, who are going to play the partisan game as usual. What is that quotient that makes us realistic, neither over optimistic just on the stabler government nor pessimistic on the India story? What is going to be the growth rate? What are going to be the hurdles to be crossed and when are these most likely crossed? And under what conditions and subject to what variables? What is the story evolving by 2010, 2015 and 2020? Does anyone have her fingers on the crystal ball?

I would rather say Yes. Otherwise, MFs would not have grown in size and stature. We need MFs to grow even bigger, as the vulnerability of the stock markets to hot money flows from FIIs is some what undesirable. Domestic MFs make a lot of difference... |
The convergence is long overdue - I am sure the Top Corporates will transition quickly. Gradualism may be necessary for PSUs and SMEs. Affordable 'transition solutions' should be productised and made available to SMEs. Perhaps here is an opportunity... |
I guess Mr Narendra Modi did the same in a different way. In return Amitabh was asked to be the Brand Ambassador for Gujarat. This shows, as you go south of Vindhyas art kindles an appreciation without asking for anything in return. I also remember... |
