In big shopping malls there is no check on sale of Tobacco Products and Liquor and some stores don't even ask for your Age Proof, while selling such products. What do you have to say about it.

I assume you are talking about malls in India, right? Why should purchasing tobacco and liquor from mall be any different than buying cigarettes from a corner "pan-stall"? The point I am trying to make is, malls can impose age limits for these products all day long, but it will only be superficial, as any underage kid who wants to buy tobacco could easily access it. The situation is not made any better by showing popular actors smoking on the big screen. So essentially in Indian context any type of ban is simply wase of money, time and effort, because the problem lies much deeper.

Why not? Shopping Malls are about choices and range. There is nothing wrong in selling them in Malls.

But personally i feel it should be done with general warnings like the smoking is injurious or dont drink and drive messages displayed prominently. These messages can be further incorporated into the packaging like the carry bags etc. I know people will argue that this would not deter an underage shopper but it will definitely shame him when he is found carrying it around in the mall.

Also the fact that a mall is a much brighter and open space will definitely deter a buyer especially if he is underage while a corner store is even more easy to purchase from.
