In this modern electronic-age we rely more than ever on our computers to supply us with the information we need. Chances are every piece of data you might ever rely on to make an important decision has been reduced to a digital format and resides somewhere on your computer's hard drive. Improved functionality and productivity are the benefits, however, on the flipside, one wrong click, one nasty virus, one untimely power surge can vanish that data.
So the question which needs to be asked is how much of the Data are you willing to put online?
i'd definitely keep ALL my data on line. they're much safer there than on my harddisk next to my desk.
Hi Sumitra
This again depends on each of us, u have data of three categories - Personal, Freelance and Education apart from work (not rigth to have online)
Personal
- Photo
- Scaned Documents (Passport, PAN, CErtificates, Work Exp...)
- Financial Portfolia
- Contact Information
Freelance
- Blog
-Website
-Article
- Proffesional Networking Site
- Presentation (Hobbies, Field of Interest, ....)
Education Knowledge
- Research
- Files from internet
etc....
All above depens on u how critical it is for u. I have most of these data online and also in my external hard disk.
To store data online is for backup, easy retrival, etc.. when we are not allowed to carry external drive or memory stick..
In these times, there is hardly any question about where you want to put your data. Since collaborating with people outside of your own network is more and more commonly accepted, you have to keep your data available to those who need it, no matter what time of day. You cannot rely on your computer to be available for the data 24/7 so an online storage is the only logical answer.
Of course, online storages are more often attacked, but since being available is their business, they will spent more money on security than most offices.
If you mean personal data online, this will be up to you since this type of data is not easily lost. In this modern age data, for official use have back up systems so any data that appear to be lost can easily be retrieved. I am no expert here but from my point of view data once stored in a computer whether offline or online cannot be lost that easily.
First of all let me say that this is a very good question you have asked. But if you ask me I would say that I will never be hesitant to store my data online because I have a simple solution for any shortcoming i.e. online backups. They are a simple way to protect your data. Also online backups are generally more secure than in-house backup solutions. If your computers or data are affected by natural disaster, power failure/surges, viruses, vandalism, theft, human error, etc., your in-house backup will suffer the same consequences. Another unfortunate thing about tape backups is that they are not generally encrypted, and not very secure. Almost anyone can read them and gain access to your clients, sales, prospects, notes, billing records, payroll, tax info, and anything else on your computer. But Online backups encrypt your data before transferring it to the remote server which is much more secure than any other alternatives.

So g+ is trying hard to survice now we have brand pages on g+ too. To add to this they have added game apps to lure people. but are there enough people to make this work? Will game apps do any good to g+? |
Yes sir the product is really good but it is designed for different purpose. It is mostly used for military purpose. |
This might sound odd to many but yes laptops are not tough. They can break and get damaged and you will regret if this happens. So the best thing to do is to protect it the best way possible. There is just one laptop Tough book which will not... |
