How often do you visit a dentist? OR whenever you do, why do you visit the dentist? Do you have a family dentist or you start a dentist hunt whe it is emergency?

Depends on how much care you have taken for your teeth since childhood. By proper brushing/cleaning your teeth and gums in the morning, after eating food any time during the day, avoiding Paan and Paan masala, and ensuring that food stuff, sweets and chocolates are not left sticking between teeth and gums the need to visit a dentist may not arise till you are too old. Also heavy dosage of antibiotics and some other allopathic drugs affect teeth and therefore caution must be exercised in their usage.

On an average people who have issues with their teeth visit their dentist once every six months, sometimes once a year. I will go with Pradeep Saran who has answered this wonderfully. It all depends on how much you cared about your teeth. Also, not many people know that even stress, and a hectic life style will affect your teeth.

Long long ago I read an article in 'The Hindu' titled 'When do you need a doctor?' The answer is when you dont need one. Visit the doctor periodically. As far as I am concerned I visit my Dentist and Cardiologist twice in a year.

I think the more money you have, the more u will spend, and it may be that the helathcare industry is trying to get us to visit dentists more by publishing exaggerated features. who knows??? Why should a dentist benefit from me so often???

Thanks,Bindu for referral. It is too late for me. I never took teeth as health problem. I also noticed that Dentists or Doctor also took their profession very lightly. Whenever,I contacted them, their pet reply would be."let us not touch your teeth", you take medicines,i prescribe.
