There ought to be a national database of constrution materials, split into regions so that an engineer can pick his material beforehand and judiciously, wherever he wants to commence construction.
Sir, it is possible and regionwise we have to collect the data. common materials like steel, cement, sand, metal, bricks, tiles can be compliled from the availability and source, interestingly if you travel towards Karnataka in some parts you will find houses constructed with stone slabs popularly known as Shahabad stone and lime. similarly in Karnataka and Kerala you'll find houses havige mangalorean tiles on the roof. All this has to be compiled properly looking at each and every region and the choice of the building materials as per their geographic location.
