Dear All,
I am working in Automotive Industry so wants input from you all who belong to same industry that in this tough time. Are your cos. are also planning for downsizing?? If yes, what are the steps planned for this especially for compensating those employees who are laid off...

As per Industrial Disputes Act,1947Section 25-C says that a workmen
shall be paid by the employer for all days during which he is so laid
off, except for such weekly holidays as may intervene, compensation
which shall be equal to 50% of the total of the basic wages and
dearness allowance that would have been payable to him had he not been
so laid off.
If any detailed notes on this my please refer I.D Act 1947.
