Dear All,
I am working on a project which is developed by somebody. The person who developed the project but he hadn't prepared the system documentation for the application. This task is assigned to me. But I don't know how to start the task. One thing I've done that, I thoroughly studied the project to understand the profile. Now I have reached to a comfort region to understand the flow. But my client needs a flow chart & a well defined document for the project, so that any one can understand the project by going through the document.
But I've never done this type of work in my career. I am requesting to all the persons who are working on this type of task, that please tell me from where I'll start to create the flow chart & the documentation?

Hello Madhusudan,
If you have read the document thoroughly and this project is already developed then i think you can easily make the flow diagram of it.Because now you know that what is the flow of the project and what object and classes have been used to develope it.
If you have done any other project document in you career then it is not a difficult task and as per Vineet singh
wrote ; you can also search on internet for this.
There are softwares that can help you create the documentation for the code. You can try http://ndoc.sourceforge.net/ .. there are other s/w also. this one open source.
If you ave already understood the flow I dont see any problem in making the flow chart. take one scenario and follow that to create your flow chart. Also if you run the code in debug mode you will be able to see the flow of data, that too can be way of creating a rough flow chart.

I think we should release the person ASAP (i.e after completion of all the formalities), bcoz the person will not work from his/her interest. we are putting pressure to work them on that period....on that situation they may do some wrong activity. |
