I have experienced this incident. I drafted a Hare & Tortoise story with management lessons and uploaded at Toostep. After a week time, when I was reviewing my article status; I found that the same story was way back uploaded by Versha. But message was altogether different specially Coke-Pepsi story which I included in my insight. But I felt guilty and tried to send a mail to Versha. Due to some reasons it was not managed and I did not send any mail to Versha. Versha SORRY for that. The same thing I also observed in two three cases. I feel we should have such a tool which can tell us that this subject is going to be repeated in Toostep, or similar topics should get open before loading of the same. What do you say?

Nitin, as Sudeep pointed out there is a system in place. However, I believe there are 2 reasons why the problem still exists.

1. Members are not checking to see if the post already exists

2. If the title of the post is changed this is almost impossible to detect if it is already posted.

Why should we reduce the duplicacy of articles unless you patented it? That way, entire internet is 100 times duplicated with same articles pblished.

I would be more than happy, if I find my same article published by others also - because, there is someone who is also thinking like me or on the more negetive side, there is someone who is so impressed and agrees so much with my article such that he/she wanted to own it also!!! In both the cases, I am happy.

If you are talking about managing the database, or keeping track of it all that operational issues, then they are a bit of inconsequential compared to my article.

Nitin ji,

I guess already TooStep is having that mechanism. While you are posting any knowledge item you can see on the right hand side that "Check if your article already exist" after title is framed.

But still there is one problem that if user has posted a article earlier & if other user posts a question or a debtae with the same title, he will be unable to find whether it has already been posted or not.....

Is this what you are asking or it is something else........
