There is altogether different genre of electronics products & brands which are more or less, what I have felt, not very much popular in comparison to their counterparts & known to be 'high end audio'.
Products are spread in several categories like AV receivers, loud speakers, home theaters, audio cables, headphones etc.
There are many international players in India operating through distributors/franchisee/custom stores/malls etc. Major brands include Onkyo, Denon, Harman kardon, Nakamichi, Marantz, JBL, Jamo, Infinity, Bose etc to quote a few but the list goes on,,,,
The main constraints are high prices & less awareness regarding technologies like HD, Dolby, DTS, HDMI, blue ray & other factors like SN ratio, wow & flutter, noise reduction, harmonic destruction etc.
Friends; how do you see this industry shaping in our country specially viz a viz the home products....with rising income levels & changing consumption patterns amongst youth & growing awareness through mediums like net.
Please share your valuable comments.....
It is trying to evolve consumer interest in Indian Market, which for n reasons can take longer time..... but for big brands this could be achieved by focusing on consumer education. As these are high end consumer products so their buyer would be limited so it easy to spread awareness through specific channels... knowing is half the battle won...
With the advent of cell phones, plasma, LCD how far was audio going to be?? Projection Theatres are big in the filmi houses and with it has to be a surround sound dolby digital audio system. This is one market which will never die.
There are two strata of players in this market. High End brands like BOSE< JBL etc and then you have the Altec Lansings, Mitashi, Intex etc who cater to the lower end of the market. So you have the mass being looked after at both the ends. The market is big, explorable and opportunistic as well. Audio will do good my friend... Thanks for the referral Ujval :)
