hi vivek & nitin,

Human life does not cost high for bulders but cost to those families lost the lives. The mishap are going on,not correcting or learning to correct .White collar officials & buisiness men buy humen life with their money, where humaity become zero.safety starts with u but need instruction information training and a planned program and object.it can hapen only where humen lives are respected along with pay.

regards

The major factor that our country lacks safety standards is POVERTY . If safety is flaunted on site a worker cant argue with his highers or else he will loose his job so to earn he has to work without proper measures.I m totally with Vargese sir on their argument that foreign countries take life very seriously. If u look into the construction of eiffel tower in 1890's their was only one major casuality (death)reported. So even a century back those people were so concerned about safety standards.    " Make every day a safe day" must be our motto and we must take proper actions to keep and adhere to the safety standards and create an awareness amongst the bottom most line (workers).

Some of the companises think they can enhance their profitability by saving their expenses in SHE for their workmen & staffs. But the fact is not the same. They are incurring more due to mishaps at their work place. There are some good organisations , who are putting lot of effort in implementation of safe practices at work places. L&T is one of the them. It has structured safety training programmes from workers to top executives. It has set a very high standard in construction safety. The other companies to follow the same.

I agree that there is very little value of human life when it comes to construction industry.Very little or almost negligible amount of money is spent on the safety of the workers and no advance safety standards are taken care of to ensure better and safer working conditions.

Expenses incurred at Project Sites towards SAFETY PRECAUTIONS are a meaure of importance given by an Orgnaizations towards SAFETY..

These Expenses towards SAFETY are not even at par with Stationary Expenses at Site..

I agree with Mr. VIVEK...

Human Life is valued Lesser that amount spent for reprinting Progress Reports at SITE...

SAFETY starts with "S" but BEGINS with "U"

Human life does not cost high to the builders in India. It is cheaper here to solve the mishap cases through channels "alternative" to legal. It also has got no effect on sales.
