I also did not notice that it is 10 months old.  Since I am not in India, I sort of lost touch with him.  I am sure he would have rectified it.  IOB CPPD (now ITD) had many great stalwarts who taught Banking to Infosys and did a joint development of the first module for TBA.  But then, they parted ways - for some unknown reason.  Everything from there on, was our own development.  We developed a complete CBS - with Internet Banking, ATM interfacing software, Domestic Funds, Foreign Exchange, Personnel Department, RTGS interfacing, Datawarehouse, Reconciliations etc., etc.  Sybase used to contact IOB for solving technical issues in other customer sites.  Even now, only IOB has the total in-house developed software.  Most of the first and second generation of people from ITD of our Bank left for greener pastures - Sybase Corporation, Oracle, IBM, etc., etc., both in India and abroad.  I am proud to say that I was the architect for our Domestic Funds, RTGS interfacing, Accounts Department, ATM interfacing, some reconciliations and others before I left the Bank.

Proud to be an IOBian (though ex).  So please excuse me if I talk very highly of my Bank.  I remember an article in which I gave Thumbs Down to Joydeep for having a wrong opinion about nationalised banks - only on account of that reason (sorry once again, Joydeep).  I am what I am today on account of IOB - where I worked for 19 1/2 years.

Mr. S Venkatraman please type in Run dialogue box "msinfo32" and please send me the information and simultaneously try to install home premium or ultimate.

Moreover I'd like to ask for any error code shown in the screen or is your keyboard perfectly okay?

I'd request if there is any error message like "there is no CD in the CD Drive" then button follows like Try Again, Cancel, Ignore. Or is there a CD which is still left unnoticed in your CD Drive?

Sir,

It could be virus.  Check your anti-virus software. If it is not updated version better update and scan the system thoroughly. Reformat the system.  Before doing it save your important files onto some external device.  If you have any booting problems, delete cookies and temporary files every now and then.  Better the system RAM needs upgradation.  The service engineers might have attended by the time, since post is 10 months old.  They repair and go and wont tell you the problem.  If the problem persists you need to call them again.  Instead  these things can be tried.

Thanks Mr. Raju for the update.  His last post was blank and I thought he has messed it around! Like him, I'm experimenting with a number of OS for the past two decades - perfection is still eluding and out of reach, for want of necessary tools on time!  I did not realize that his first post was 9 months ago about the IE problem, and we responded now, in fact, you sent a welcome message yesterday. My apologies!

SVR, are you installing the correct version of Windows 7?  There are different versions for Intel, AMD and other processors.

Also is the hardware configuration correct for this version of Windows 7?  There are minimum RAM, Hard Disk and processor requirements for Windows 7.

Check out the Windows website if your PC is fulfilling these requirements.

Better still, consult one of your daughters or son.  They know more than us in this regard.
