I have recently purchased the Macbook Air(Apple), I need to know that When trying to startup the hard drive just clicks and the screen displays a folder with a question mark. What does this mean?

I had this happen to me and it was very unfortunate. This means that the computer can't find a hard drive, and the clicking sound means that your hard drive itself is messed up. I took mine to the Apple store Genius Bar, and the guy told me that its too late to recover any files, and i needed a completely new hard drive. I got lucky and the guy put in a new drive for me for free.
