Firstly, what area are you looking to join in telecom? Is it the core telecom side or protocol side?First understand this domain fully before taking any decision. There are companies which work on the development of switches/core network elements and there are also companies which purely work on handling the outsourcing work in telecom right from the development of nodes to deployment/testing etc.As a B.Tech engineer in electronics, you have the options to join the Govt. organisations like BSNL/MTNL through the written tests conducted by them for various posts right from JTO (Jr. Telecom Officer) to Level-1 Engineer handling the deployment work. At the same time, you can also join the companies like Reliance in private sector, which will provide the opportunities to freshers based on the written tests for their on-going projects.
Adding to the above,if you want to do some course, there are many short term courses offered by the private institutes, few of which also provide the placement service too. Also, there are seminars conducted time-to-time by the experts, which can help you know the changes in this field.Apart from all this, you can also go for MBA in Telecom management if you want to make it to a management role. So,please decide accordingly
As Mr. Abdul is having all the answer to your question..Ur already in B.Tech.. just finish it with all Ur consideration .So many courses as a advance package for telecommunication engineers is going around in national and international forum and universities..with so many avenues, u can also go with public services conducted by UPSC..(TO,JTO,STO)Etc.
so keep ur eyes and ears open to grab opportunities.. as the future of telecommunicatiion sector is very bright.
