I am really being amazed and ashamed of myself to ask, perhaps, a stupid question here having read a couple of comments.

Either I am too naive & ignorant about the simple facts that now a days, people are more inclined towards Coke & Pizza rather to Mamma’s  recipes or perhaps it’s the out of the box thinking or too much optimism in me. But my views are fortified with the facts that one of our recipes is National food of England & I have seen Australian PM thanking Indians for the fabulous food, speaking in a TV interview, & saying that otherwise perhaps, they (Ausies), have to live with that drab English food for next 100 years.

Coming to the point, Lassi is ready with Amul(& in a well professional manner) , if a bunch of small villagers can do that , why can’t someone from us (if many of us can be top  brass in foreign food giants) can wrap a Parantha in a tissue paper in a time tantamount to what it takes for a Pizza (so that it can be called a fast food), & sell it there where there, what we know for sure,  is a big market & people appreciate its taste.

Regarding domestic market, I don’t know for certain that how much people like me are still there that still likes to eat Parantha Lassi with Coke & all as well, in an ambience like what they(MNC's) have, but I am still hopeful of a descent ROI for a company dabbling with this concept.

It’s not the comparison of foreign food or culture with us, its business & yes I think that’s possible.

And in the end, with all due respect, thanks for participating.

I think Bangalore based MTR food chain is  already indulged in making Ready to eat foods. Hopefully in the future they may roll out. But as of now chains like BIKANERWALA are expanding hugely which looks postive for Indian food lovers. Even though plenty of burger & pizza chains on the other hand are investing.

But Ready to eat foods contain PRESERVATIVES which is wat bothers most.

Whatever, i think Indian food is the most DELICIOUS and SATISFYING meal on this planet.

I think people are not think in  business sense to invest in this area where the taste can be customised. Although people think in business sense but may be due fear of business loss may be there .It required consistent & persistent valid reasearch on this type of business and I am very confident this type of business can run with profit.

Like this we can think to have chain having Rasgulla from Orissa ( Bikala Kar ) which are famous in Cuttack and Orissa.

There is lot of oppertunity in India .

i appreciate that such point has been raised the cause for "paranthas" and "lassi" not being commercialised yet is their brief shelf and potential preservatives will ruin there natural flavour and tastes..undeniably ,packed lassi isn't as good as one served fresh.moreover such flavours are mundane for most of the indians and when they set out to eat out they seek change so they resort to best alternative available so is  the equation for the people abroad.another thing to consider is that nowdays, people are turning veggies pertaining health concerns ,for them this might be next big thing , who don' like to be  delivered instead of pizza's.

Because your mother can prepare  it but not Mac Burger/Pizza/Coke in the form its sold today. Also Indians right now are taking in a lot from the west so appreciation is for Coke etc. these days more than Aloo parathas/Lassi.

Let’s not mechanise it. It  will loose its taste and flavour. And moreover it is not exactly a fast food

Well, Its a Remarkable point. They are the best no doubt, we Indian are Running towars westernising ourselver.

But let me tell you all, One day this Aloo Parantha & Lassi would become a Luxury and it wont be there for common man. Like our crafts Banarasi Silk, Kasheeda etc.
