I'm curious about average implementation costs for Siebel CRM solution. I'm really looking for rough numbers around implementation dollars to licensing dollars (i.e. 2 to 1 etc.). I'd love to get some real examples rather than speculation.

I'm afraid implementation dollars to licensing dollars isn't anymore a good metric (though 2 to 1 has been a long time "standard of the market" one).

The reasons are simple, and quite compelling : (i) vendors (and especially Oracle) have changed their business model, and are more and more involved into servicing the customers and (ii) you could get as many different quotes for pricing of the same software from vendors (and especially Oracle) as there are sales reps in their companies.

Taking an example : you can buy Siebel CRM from Oracle with pricing range that goes from midmarket targeted / ASP-like specific editions, where service and software are embedded, to Unlimited License Agreement (kind of "take all you want but eat all you take") where you could get an unlimited number of licenses to deploy for some 1 million dollars overall license (wonder how much this would cost to deploy 30 000 users, or 50 000, or 100 000 users ?).
