In advertising, women charecter is always be a easy tool to catch consumers attention but is it right to apply unhealthy sense of expose ,seduction of women? the culture of india is continously assulted but the presure of globlasition it comes to nisch marketing but we didnot ignore or avoid our root?
yes, women are being and used and depicted like that. But the main issues is that the advertisers do get response by depicting women in a different way and so the root cause is not the depiction but our response (rather positive), which transforms into more sale. No regulatory model can change this fact because it is very easy to bend rules and the best example is the liquor ads. The only action that can discourage advertisers from using women as a tool is not to give response to such ads.

Ad is a profession & it has its reach all over World. Depicting them in ad needs to adhere to the local/regional norms of the area where it is being used. This trend will, certainly, gain enough market to the products. No rupturing of anyone's sentiments but , alluring the interest of people to gain market is required.
Thanks for referral Ms. Meena Desmukh.
Obviously, they have become easy target. Many who don't realize what chastity is all about, living in falsehood of doing any act for monetary consideration. This weakness is, in turn, being exploited by the ad agencies and the entertainment industry. Once they lose their character, they are thrown into a different world, and banished by the society.
I agree with you Meenajee that women are being misused and sometimes abused but as a matter of fact for good remuneration women have to accept it. But from effectiveness point of view also, ad without a woman also looks incomplete....!! Coping with the men's attitude towards women, it can be nicely twisted but shameful scenes should be avoided by the advertisers/ producers only. If this can't be avoided by them, the women acting in it should simply refuse to do so....!!
This question had been discussed many times and the answer remains the same. No one is attracted by such ads and no one buys a thing by watching anything of that sort. The makers should understand that. Anyways we have some ad standards and in case anyone does not follow them the ads can be banned anyways.

Excepting the unnecessary and bad parts of religion (which is injected by some selfish evil-doer) if you can take the good part only, I am sure, you will be benefited. But this work is not possible by all. One who is able to do this– is enough... |
