The biggest overhead for any retail venture should be the rentals (approx- 10%-17% in established markets) on their TO. lot of retailers have either shifted to revenue sharing with mall developers instead of rentals>> i feel it makes better sense for these developers/real estate company to jump into the foray- as they surely hold an advantage over the rest....the rest of the game is all common for anybody else...and regarding supply chain, inefficiencies are caused mostly by constant reworking/fluctuation of market trends/merchandising/pricing and sales policies and not by the incompetencies of the supply chain managers alone... it is going to be a difficult task, to cater to a chain of stores within the country with such a variety of regional/zonal/preferences...you can never be 100% spot on..!!!
