India is among four major developing countries that decided to walk out of climate negotiations if they are asked to “peak” their emissions. This is just one of the non-negotiable elements of any climate deal that might be struck at the Copenhagen meeting that India, China, South Africa and Brazil agreed on at a meeting in Beijing. The four countries have also said that any demand from industrialized nations for emission cut commitments from developing countries and for scrutiny of domestic plans which have not been supported financially and through technology from the West will be strongly resisted. India said earlier it is willing to put only those actions that have been supported by developed countries under global scrutiny.
Peaking years are the limit beyond which countries have to pledge that global warming gas emissions will not rise. Jairam Ramesh, minister of state, MoEF, who was in Beijing for the meeting, said any exit from negotiations will be collective and coordinated if there is a breach of any of the non-negotiable points.
Should India quit the Conference? Or should India protest against
the developed countries with the help of developing countries?
India need to quit the Conference. There is no use of very bad negociation with the Devloped counties. Now Denmark stated the new rule for Carbon tax and other Devloped counties stringent rules. We need to think about our earth first. The various outcome of climate change such as earth quake, floods, etc. is a very serious issues, but the the devloped nation still bother about money. When everything will be finsh, then these devloped counties shall take the money to the heven and hell and there also try to negociate.
India is doing the right thing, there is no use of Copenhagen meeting. Quit it and make the deal between the 4 counties only. India and China itself are the fastest growing nation. They shall trade the carbon trading between themselves at the best price and also at the best way.

Power consumption increases in summer and then we see power crisis. Every time there is power cut we curse govt and wish to have private power connection. Ahmedabad in Gujarat already gets private power suly through Torrent. Should same thing can... |
What is happening is good and a little more safety concerns will make things easy. Why to introduce other distracting factors here? |
We cannot live with power cuts though there is a lot we need to do. Nuclear power is the answer and till when we do not develop an alternative to this we just cannot help it. |
