Feasability study is ususally be done on mammoth event as the DLF IPL. Much depends on the franchisees who would be hard-pressed to justify this investment as they have had no prior association or long-term commitment to cricket. It will be interesting to know how the price for Ricky Ponting and Andrew Symonds were arrived at or for that matter any of the players at all. My views on the whole event is that the returns were good because of the large population in India plus tourists, ads and the other factors built in. However I don't believe that some of the players fees were justified since whether your performance was good or not or your team lose or win that would not have changed your contracted fees.
