In principle, there is no way to prevent a user from capturing streaming video and audio that has been delivered to their computer. Thus, the efforts of broadcasters to prevent this consist of making the process of capturing inconvenient, or illegal, or both.
Broadcasters can make it inconvenient to capture a stream, for example, by using unpublished data formats or by using Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection.
You can use special software to capture Windows Media Streams, Real Video/Audio Streams, like Replay Video Suite,
Multiformat recorders. can capture several types of video and audio streams (like Windows Media, RealVideo, RealAudio, QuickTime Video, Shoutcast audio).
