I am working in a 15 mw power plant in chattisgarh state, india.
ESP is out of operation, we want to run the plant for one month without ESP by arranging a w
ater spray system above chimney to avoid ash disperse. Please suggest is it ok. Is there any
effect on ID fan and Insulation brick inside the chimney.

Check the percentage of sulphur present in the fuel. It will pose a threat of corrosion if the temperature of the flue gas entering the chimney is lower than the sulphur dew point temperature.
How can water spray eliminate dust, remember the flue gas leaving at a certain velocity. Dust suppression with water spray is feasible for fugitive dust.
no spraying water at the outlet of the chimnney is out of queation. instead use bag filters, or cyclones . this will give better results in emission control.
Technically it is not advisable as the life of chimny get affected but for a while u can do..
