On the face of it, Varun Gandhi’s hate speech in pilibhit makes no sense. It is a kin to committing political suicide. This begs the question, why did he do it?

Varun is no intellectual giant, but he is not a moron either. His only possible motive for making a speech like that is for electoral gains.

media is not punishing Varun Gandhi for his remarks instead, it is taking undue advantage of his speech for its coverage.these hatred speeches/slogans in election times is not new to us.this attitude of media cannot be blamed because it is becomming more and more commercial rather than responsible in this fast generation and that's why one part of his speech has been draged till now even after 2 / 3 days and helping in developments that will create some advantage to any one political party.

Mr Sundeep,

Please reconsider your thoughts again.

If a voting takes place then 90% people will vote I guess for "Media is really so irresponsible that they will try to bring someone's dignity down just to create headlines".

Why? because they have viewers who are Netaji in their family but Gandhi when the nation comes.

The media is completely overboard. When media does not find any substantial news they sensationalise some orthodox thought into a giant issue. First of all media shld never blow varuns stupid speech out of propotion. wuld that have made any difference if we were spared with one more illogical "breaking news" issue which has just irked the so called hindu & muslim sentiments. its purely pathetic. Seriously, there are stupid people in politics and media giving coverage to such stupid views represents media's stupidity as well. Politics is purely a mind game and the ones who behave as pawns are surely gonaa get destroyed.

No i don't think so. As there is a famous saying  that "there is no smoke without fire". So varun gandhi must have said something provocative which has raised such a hue and cry across the nation. Media is not so irresponsible that they will try to bring someone's dignity down just to create headlines.
