Is shoe insult a custom, an individual get or a gesture of protest on behalf of a community, neither, or both?
Last but not the least, for one thing politicians around the world should wake up and be attentive (not just to duck shoes flying their way) to issues that need to be resolved in time. People are tired of serious issues being regularly buried by the political class and bureaucracy. They are no longer afraid of protest as these incidents have shown. Since our dear journo Jarnail Singh has not even been arrested, it can now pass off as acceptable behaviour. Politicos better watch out.

Shoes definitely are not the sexiest weapon of the year. Shoes were made to be worn on your feet and not to be used as a weapon. However, it seems as though it is now becoming a norm to use it to vent your anger or frustration in public places. Ok what happened to Bush was uncalled for but people in other countries should not become copycats.

I hope you have used the word "sexiest" in funky sense. But I take it in literal terms and hope that the politicians get 'aroused' by it and 'do' something productive.

I guess its the human psychology. The dirtest thing available at the disposal for a human being is the shoe and that is also very accesible in such press conference. Hence for a comman man he would want to show is reaction by throwing the dirtest thing available at his disposal.

This is the one which those are getting who deserve that and those also who don't. There is a matter of the mantality of an human being. If you think about the Naveen Jindal case or every one. They are leaders and they have to think about each and every one instead of one person or one community. But no one never try to understand there limitations. I am hundred % sure if you or I will be in there shoes it would be the most difficult task to take a decission in a country like INDIA.

hi, no doubt, shoe throwing towards leaders has created some sort of sensation, we do not really know what reciepents has tought about it,but, let all of us first do agree that we are living in civilised society and bound by some norms to be the part of place we are living.even today there is no weapon than PEN to express ones feelings.certainly i do not agree to these kind of incidents happen that will bring a shame.

I guess this is what happens when Politicians are not performing and giving a blind eye for everything, and these shoes are having much better reach, as politicians who have been targetted were, Former US president George Bush, Chinese President Hu Jintao, and Now Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram...I guess before joining politics one should practice ducking from the incoming objects...today its shoes,,,,who knows what it will be in future....
