With so many of us out there looking for jobs right now, it makes sense to create the most productive and effective resume.
So I’m putting it to you: One page or two?
The resume has to be comprehensive but concise. I would say that it should not be longer than two pages.
The best resume is the one which gets the maximu number of rings on your phone, not the number of pages on your resume.
The objective of resume is to show how valuable you could be to the prospective employer. So if the employer is seeing value for his organization, in what you have written in your resume, he wouldn't mind reading a novel about you. At the same time resume does not mean biography, it is just bio data, where graphic discription of your data is not required.
It is unusual for people to talk about themselves and what value they can bring to table in more thn two or three pages.
Two pages are good enough for any resume. However, in the modern trend ...it will be appropriate to start with your current or last qualification and experience. The resume should also include all relevant job experience. If you are new to the job market, list classes and volunteer efforts. If you have been working for a long time, list relevant job experience only. Normally, you need not go back more than 10 years in a long job history, unless a job you worked before that time gave you skills that can be beneficial to your new employer.
It all depends upon the amount of experience you have. More the experience more the pages will it run into. But different jobsites and experts on the subject refer to a max of three pages and not more than that to be effective. Following should be the brief classifications:
1) Career objective
2) Area of interest - be specific, if its engineering, you need to mention what kind
2) References - max of two with mail ids / designation / company name and mobile no.
3) Job experience - current job first (all in brief of 3 lines max and not paragraphs)
4) Educational details - again in brief (Should just contain the degree / area of study / university / date of passing), no marks etc.
5) Personal info - date of birth, marital status, passport details, extra curricular activities
More information the bulkier would be the resume and more irritated would the recruiting person feel. All the details can be left behind to be spewed out during the interview.

White resembles purity, Monday's color. White daisies are a symbol of loyal love. Finally, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color - the complete energy of light. |
