The 300000 cr BPL insurance scheme reflects the intention (glimmer of hope!!) of govt to the much neglected sector amongst other reqirements. However is it the actual need? The capacity to engage better health care doesnot reflect in the allocation per capita. The assumption here is that almost the entire populace covered under this scheme will not have any other health issue other than fever/malaria/dysentry, flu, etc
The other concern is as to where is the govt to get this astronomical funds from, who would be the TPA, how much red tapism will follow for reimbursements and checks and balance on the healthcare providers not to over charge to claim the full amount (they have the tendency).
