I am totaly agree with mr . basudev mahapatra..
both of them have moral responsibility above all for the society.
that we can be definetly called as similarity between them.
they need each other. at the end, they need an audiance/ electorate to hear them out.
but u can bash up politicians for their doings at some point.. but our channel bigwigs, try pointing fingers at them . you will not get an answer rather 'il ask u back " at the end of the day u blame the media for everthing???' this is true for all A list news channnels. they all have a political affiliation , no one is truly independent or objective in their reporting or analysis (political stories).
but i guss they will learn as time goes by..
The role of Media Channels and Political leaders, is like "Jekyll and Hyde"-a novella written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson and first published in 1886. ...Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde.
The work is known for its vivid portrayal of a split personality, split in the sense that within the same person there is both an apparently good and an evil personality each being quite distinct from the other. The novella's impact is such that it has become a part of the language, with the phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next.
Media are the news-breakers and Political leader, the news makers! Hence How can one, be devoid of the other’s character?
My answer is a big YES.
Money making have become the prime aim of most of the media companies. They go to any extent to excite the people to sell.
Most of the media persons jump into their own assumptions, conclusions and invent many twists and unseen meaning for every issue to fill more excitement.
Most of the floor debates are doing more harm than any good to the public or nation. Most of the time the basics of the issue on debate are lost in these debates. The anchor person do not study before hand, the issues involved, and instead of guiding the participants with right questions, it is left to itself and end up worse than fish market brawls.
In many interviews and floor debates, some anchor person try to glorify themselves or their company, talking most of the time, injecting their own assumptions and conclusions, without giving enough time for the participant to put forth his/her views in an orderly manner. In most cases it is the experience that the anchor persons are not able to conduct the debate in an orderly way by restricting the participants to express their views and counter views as matured persons. Becuase of this, most of these debates end up nowhere.
Many times it is found that the media guys do not even apply simple common sense in putting forth many issues to the public. In a big country like
It is seen that the whole media get agitated and take on a ‘Loyal than the King’ attitude beyond the imagination of the parties involved.
Over and above the media is intolerant on its critics and seldom willing to do any introspection, instead resorting to justify themselves.
A correction is definitely needed in the attitude of most of the media’s norms.
Impossible. Media Channels and political leaders can't be same or identical.
Yes, many times, media channels do add spice to their content to make it marketable or attractive to look at. But they can't just show something that doesn't exist or doesn't have a root. In some exceptional casesm the channels have faced punitive action from the government and the regulating agencies.
But, as the saying goes, politicians promise a bridge where there is no river! And, ironically, we - a billion human beings of India - have been quite indifferent to such people who have been betraying us since last 60 years!
