Three aspects:

1) For the existing employees in the company - let go of their emotions and work with empathy and professionalism.

2) For the people who have been laid-off - difficult times and need to plan (go to www.manager-tools.com and get info on the finance and other aspects of layoff). This is also a good site for existing employees to understand what to do if they are the next targets.

3) For the company itself - very difficult as they need to decide whom to let go off - it is not an easy task as they are not firing an employee, but a family. They do (if they are really professional) assist in terms of arranging for interviews, recommendations etc to enable the employee to secure the next job.

There are a lot of information available on the manager-tools site to assist the manager, the employee and others involved in the process to do this effectively and efficiently - keeping the interest of the employee and the management in mind. Do go through it. The contents of the site are a culmination of the lessons learnt which can be very useful for those who are interested.

I think all the best point have been mentioned but still to add I would say some brochures can be kept with every travel agency. Instead of focus on only few loyal travel agents we broader approach should also be used ,

No, I dont feel that it will be a success. People might not prefer going to stay at such a hotel because they wouldn't have anything to do. Most of the gadgets work on electricity and they might feel concerned about living in room with no electricity....
