Hi all,
I got a job in an IT company as java/j2ee programmer in Kolkata after completing my MCA in year 2006. After 9-10 months working in java , the company asked me to work in php & mysql because they have not any project in java/j2ee. Since then I worked in php & mysql in that comapny till march 2008. Then I came to Delhi and I joined a comapny as Web-Developer as soon as I got the job and working in php & mysql. I have good knowledge of java, jsp, jdbc, servlet & I still updates myself.
Now I will pleased and oblige, if any one can tell me whether I have made a mistake. How do you see my future after changing my track from java/j2ee to php & mysql? Have I made a mistake by changing my track? What should I do, whether I should try to go back in java/j2ee or php & mysql has same future level so I should stay in this technology?
Pls solve my problem....
I will be grateful to you.
Thanks ...
Akhilesh
I don't think so. It is essential for a programmer/developer to be well versed in multiple languages and platforms. And given the current economic senario, opensource technologies like MySql, PHP, etc are gaining much ground and they gell pretty well with Java. So if you have kept yourself updated on the java platform, you have nothing to loose and a lot to gain. Wish you well in your future endeavours.
