Yes, mobile computing is yet to pick up. It really hits the bull eye, as all the users of mobile phone will pick up the phone when ever he gets sms but in case of mail, he has to access the mail to know abt the offer. Though it is expensive, it is success rate will be high compared to other modes. Now a days all the companies has CRM installed and using this they can capture the spending pattern of the customer and send mobile vouchers based on the analysis of the crm. In this way, the resources are effectively utilized and mobile vouchers will have more success rate.
Mobile Coupons look like a good concept but like everything new, one needs to test it out before releasing the verdict.
Yes, it will have a positive impact as today's world revolves around the mobile provided the coupons are packaged attractively and participating outlets are primed on this method of communication.
I agree with Surya prakash when he says it would increase store traffic but have my doubts on increasing brand awareness and inventory movement. Remember once a coupon is used the message will be deoleted by the user unlike a physical coupon that can be stored till its validity.
Mobile coupons are a new concept on a burgeoning communications platform. Now it is no more relaed to niche marketing.

Try not to build the strategy just follow some tactics and tactics is not replacement of strategy. While following if these conditions re kept in mind then word of mouth can prove fruitful. |
Bhuvaneshwar, agree with you. Sales can't rely on all customers and prospects being satisfied and refering to others. The reach will be very limited. Cold calling opens access to much larger prospect pool |
