Truth is stranger than fiction. Every moment brings crest and trough in our life. Inexperienced careers and fledgling business ventures yet to make a mark are generally vulnerable and often invite criticism. There are instances when challenges seem insurmountable. When things are not going in a way one anticipates or expects in ones work or life space, there is likelihood of one getting buckled down under pressure and momentarily trapped in despair. Often, it is observed once entangled in whirl of low esteem and negative thoughts there exists high probability of one losing sight of mission and succumb to permanent state of failure. Some of the time tested tactics employed for overcoming low esteem and depression include meditation, reading spiritual texts, consulting astrologers or mystics, praying or worshipping God or Spiritual Gurus, seeking solace from beloved, close friends or relatives, getting inspired from lives of successful human being, consulting mentors, psychiatrics, spiritual gurus or well wishers, involving with some hobbies or engaging in some type of entertainment such as listening to music, viewing entertaining TV programs or plays, theatre, playing musical instruments, playing favorite games, viewing or playing sports, cinema, indulging in diversions often considered vices such as drinking, drug misuse or smoking etc. etc. How to conquer low esteem, retain self esteem plus self belief, overcome depression, quell negative destructive thoughts, inculcate positive attitude, restore constructive plus creative attitude and rise above all odds? What is the most effective tactics to overcome low esteem and depression? If you wish, you can rank the often tried tactics according to your perceptions?
First start believing in yourself. Everybody else around can afford to give up on you, you can't do the same. Once you start believing in yourself, you'll get to see that you can do better than others might think. Getting to know this will boost your morale, self-esteem and confidence. This grows into a virtuous cycle, which will keep on feeding itself. As time progresses and things start changing you'll get to see a positive reaction from others. This will add to the positive feedback, and your social interactions will be much better. Remember, it all starts with a belief.
Well, the solution is to be surounded by the people who have a positve attitude towards life.
An ill person gets more ill, if he sees medicines all around and is surrounded by the people who says words like ' I know, I have a symapthy' etc.
Then there are other category of people who respond like - Hey, It happens, be cheerful and I am sure, you will rock"
The other healing factor is - listenin to the cheerfull, spirit awakening music. Yoga helps too.
Learn from the mistakes and move on.

When something negative happens, which is sure, comes in everyone's life, one must have a strong desire to overcome.
Swami Vivekanand said,"Whatever you think, you will be, if you think yourself weak, weak you will be; if you think yourself strong, strong you will be."
" If you have faith in all the three hundred & thirty millions of your mythological gods, ... and still have no faith in yourselves, there is no salvation for you, Have faith in yourselves, and stand up on that faith & be strong, that is what we need."
" Teach yourselves, teach everyone his real nature, call upon the sleeping soul & see how it awakes. Power will come, glory will come, goodness will come, purity will come, and everything that is excellent will come when this sleeping soul is roused to self-conscious activity."

First it should be understood that life is to struggle and it is not a bed of rose.It needs to develop this kind of maturity in life.Whatever come in one's life, he should face it with courage, nothing will fall down. The mental prepardness with patience to tackle anything in life is very important. Do good thing in life and what is the input will be the output. One should have the morale courage. Why low esteem and depression arises, because of the weakness. Strength is life and weakness is death. If one thinks the problems always, it becomes enlarged and he lagging behind. Problems will be there always in life and how to overcome and resolve it is the key to success.
In work, one must follow the systems on how to perform effectively and to achieve the common goals. The skill to compete is very essential.One must develop the habit of learning more on the jobs and he should not have the habit of doing only the job assigned to him. he should go ahead to make himself strong.
We Have a general saying that even God take birth as Human, have to undergo all good and bad periods of life. Lord Rama had lived 12 years in Jungle loosing the throne. He could have been depressed or declare war. The positive thinking of Rama could overcome the 12 years and set an example for human. To overcome esteem and depression, one should have self confidence and positive thinking. To have positive thinking one should have control on his body,brain and mind. Human system act as per the instruction received from brain. We should tame brain to give instructions to the body as per our requirements. At first sight we can think it is impossible. but it is possible. As a first step we have to learn self control, gradually start your YOGA. After practicing Hata YOGA one should learn Raja Yoga. In Raja Yoga one should learn mediation. Through meditation you will be able to control your brain. Thus you will be able to control your thinking and gain confidence. Once one have achieved self confidence will be able to handle all situations of life easily and say goody to esteem and depression. SO GAIN CONTROL ON BODY, BRAIN AND MIND.
Life rarely, if ever, is a steady progression or even upward spiral in terms of ordinary circumstances, worldly goods or emotional experiences. By nature, life has it's ups and downs. This can be expected...in fact, you can count on it. Children should come to learn this reality, as it truly is, as observers and participants in the life of their families. To try to "cure" such conditions or even the individual symptoms which manifest themselves in reaction to such conditions is futile...and counter-productive. This is the approach the West has taken, first, with its psychoanalytical and now, with its psycho-pharmaceutical approaches. It is like trying to "cure" suspected insanity with insanity. All we have accomplished in the West is to worsen the human condition, create hordes of drug addicts, and enrichen the doctors and drug companies. No matter what life throws at us...no matter what are my individual conditions...and this goes for both the extreme "highs" and the ultimate "lows"...these ARE the best possible circumstances for me in the moment. If I can come to see this and accept it, then it opens for me tremendous possibilities for opening and transforming my own life.

Some of the tactics that could be used to overcome low esteem and depression include -
1. Focus on a positive attitude to life. Most important factor.
2. Build knowledge, skills and abilities over a period of time. This helps to weather difficult periods.
3. Develop a network of relationships. This helps to alleviate issues.
4. Develop alternative hobbies that help to focus the mind on different areas.
5. Focus on self help and improvement instead of depending on external help and recourse to other aids to alleviate depression, unless unavoidable.
6. Focus on character strengthening activities - Meditation, Yoga, Pranic Healing, Reiki, etc.
7. Have a strong self worth. All the individuals have plus and minus. The key is focusing on the plus and enhancing it to the maximum extent possible.
8. Know your strengths and weaknesses and focus on the strengths.
9. Analyze the weaknesses and work out strategies to overcome them to the extent possible. Over a period of time, it is possible that the weakness may become a strength.
10. Finally, persevere with patience to overcome all the issues. This will ensure that you do not enter into the zone of low self esteem and depression......
