In a technical sense, the term "object-based language" may be used to describe any programming language that is based on the idea of encapsulating state and operations inside objects. Object-based languages does not support implicit inheritance or sub-typing, no polymorphism and very restricted sub-sets of available values as objects. VB6 supports both objects and classes, but not inheritance, so it does not qualify as object-oriented. Javascript is also object-based. C++, Java are object oriented programming languages.
