It's the law of nature, High Risk, High Gain;Low Risk Low Gain. If we see the growth factor in Private segment. Switching the ladder can make any sincere professional go way up the ladder in Private Sector in a very short career span. Same conversely, if the performance is not maintained, the Companies do not tolerate unperforming nature. hence attrition and layoffs are frequent. Abundance of Graduates and Academically Qualified lot has made attrition a trend, but the ones working sincerely rarely see attrition effect, and are mostly seen growing. Government Jobs today, have become a synonym of "Do nothing get paid" earning system. That explains why Indian Government Departments are so slothy. Government has Introduced a VRS(Voluntary Retirement Scheme) for the employees not performing. They are given a Justification Notice, and asked to take a Voluntary retirement. But that never comes. Departments are unaware, hence existence does not matter. Security wise, Govt jobs are good. but Growth and potential tapping wise, I reckon Corporate Private segment is better.

Yes, to an extent it is true, because of the biased approach. If the company has well prescribed HR policy this bias could be reduced. The job security is depending on the stipulated norms which is strong in government sector and weak in private sectors.
