I have a feeling that Australia have on hand a monkey. I also have a feeling that India has to avoid creating a monkey in Australia.
This is not to say that there is no racial attack. There may be. Or may not be too. I am particularly worried about the slogan "We are building your economy" used in a demonstration by the students.
We are suffering because of the Kashmir problem and Assam immigration issues. Srilanka suffered because of Tamils issue. Mumbai itself had North Indians issue.
When such issues occur, anti-social elements try to take advantage and the protests receive momentum to get institutionalised. These have to be delicately handled.
Students' issue has to be addressed but Australians should not be made angry. Meanwhile, Harbhajan is doing exactly that. It was time for him to shut up. When he speaks, I am not saying that he speaks wrongly - Australians get wild.
