Mr Manjunath,

Shouting is not a good way to reply. You shout, get thrown, and someone else gets recriuted, he shouts, gets thrown , another gets recruited. the cycle shall not break. If he is an idiot boss. he won;t realise the small notations and markings you make in the work you do. Try not to dominate, but to keep him in confusion as to the work you've done. He will never be able to give his credit to something he does not fully understand. Try learning to make excuses and lame replies from him. He's the best person to teach you how to coerce, and how to steal credit.

Learn his skills as his student, and use them back on him. Remember to take your superseniors on your side gradually. Some people need to realise they are not the smartest... prove it to them.

Better if such negative attitude is avoided.Confrontation is never the solution.Certainly you have to give some ROOM to Boss in the interest of your own survival.Be diplomatic.

It is very delicate situation, it has to be handled in such way that " the snake should die and the stick should not break " Find not ways and means to prove that boss wrong. One way is not to part with vital information and also bring about a situation wherein the boss has to face the management along and without proper aids. then he will get exposed and the management will know his true colour.

Hello Amit, well said, i was following your earlier three points only, but now he has become more alert and aggressively acting on his plans, to dominate, to snatch work and isolating me from higher people/management/communication and copying the way i communicate or send mails to my clients/sending mails(he is using same sentence/jargon words which i use to make it more meaningfull, he is copying each n everything what i do to impress my clients/customer)

I am not sure what is right and what is wrong, but given the case i would definitely put my manager in a situation where he has no option other than transferring the credit.

1 - Never disclose any "out of box idea" to your manager in a one to one session, bring them on table when you have a bigger audience

2 - Discuss technical ideas/solutions with your non competing peers before you discuss them with your manager

3 - Never provide any information on ad-hoc basis, always use mails as a communication mode

4 - Start entering in his shoes and try to project yourself as his alternative or at least make a point that you can work independently

5 - Work little harder and and add more expertise to your armory, this will help you remain confident

6 - Never hesitate to approach upper layer of management over such issue but make sure that you are not getting personal when approaching them.

do your job and let it go. Sooner or later the truth will come out. Make sure that the reports you file etc all have your name on it as having created and reported on that work. Other than document your work properly, there is not much you can do about it. If you discuss it around the office, you are likely to get sidelined or worse.

If I am in your position I would shout straight on his face and make him realize its wrong. When you have confidence in you and your knowledge you can be straight to everyone. Even though he fire's,  you can get a better job....
