SOX - testing is very different from normal application testing. Here you have to wade through log files to check that the necessary controls necessary for SOX compliance are in place. It is more of an auditors job. My experience with SOX testing has been that it cannot be performed by staff who cannot relate to the jargon used in the Act. The SOX Act is very complicated and you need specialists to come and perform the testin. It is a tedious effort and in my view can only be performed by staff with very good business knowledge and analysisys skills.
