As a HR professional one must know customers' mind and their rapidly changing needs and expectations then only he/she'll be able to Train the employees and then only he/she'll be able to identify and recruit right person to cater employees’ requirement. Here I have confusion, if this phenomenon is true then should a person spend his/her significant number of years of his/her career (Let say 5-8 years) in SALES and then should he/she enter into HR field? Or should he/she start career straight away from HR?
A person who wants to be a HR professional should not take up sales as first job. HR professionals need to understand people their needs and competencies required. HR professionals have to ensure the teams morale and motivation is always high and have to too close working in teams Helping and learning. Sales is click diffrent technique. The most appropriate field to start would be Manufacturing......
It is really not easy. But yeap this is value addition also a great learning to work in Marketing & sales for every person. I am a finance person, started my career with Marketing & then turned to media and again with finance. And really it is like a circle has completed. In finance I can see all those things what i use to see from other side when i was in sales & marketing. A circle of knowledge is completed here. It is like gaining knowledge from all the sides...
