We all need some "private" time to come up with creative solutions, Isn't that so? If this is the case, then, should slack be institutionalized to make organizations more creative and “human” so that they become more innovative?

I certainly believe that to encourage organization-wide slack so that [front-line] employees have time to think and come up with creative ideas or solutions will go a long way to improve share holder wealth and customer satisfaction.

If you institutionalize slack, people will come up with a more creative name for more slack!

No....some things are best left free and not institutionalised.

Just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt eat up too much of your worktime.

Harish can you explain properly what do you mean by "slack to be institutionalized"  is it something like employees should be given free time to think. So they will come up with some creative ideas. If that is the meaning then its yes from me.
