Shoe throwing is becoming a trend and one wonders what it portends?tively discouraged?

Should it be actively penalized with strict action.?

Politicians corrupt or otherwise are doing their duties. They have a role to play. They are not perfect and many times they misuse their power - agreed.

But, the same can be said of other sections of the society - to different extents.

Throwing a shoe at another individual is not warranted and is not a civilized gesture. If such gestures are condoned then it would be a matter of time before school children start lobbing their shoes at teachers. I give this example because children are the most impressionable.

Should steps be taken to clamp down on such incidents.

Mr.Prakash has raised a very good question.Since the day a jounalist from Iraq has thrown a shoe on George Bush....this shoe throwing incident has certainly become a trend across the world and there were few incidents in India too....I certainly agree that this should be condemned and a heavy penalty should be imposed on the person doing this kind of attack on anyone....Prakash is absolutely right when he says that this will not set a good example for childrens as they can easily be affected by such kind of activities and who knows how they will take such an act........again I would praise Mr.Prakash to post such a good question for all of us to putforth our views and I hope that sooner a law will be passed to punish the people involved in such incidents.

Yes it's absolutely required, though it has been seen that the dignified people have pardoned the culprits but still the law should punish them, otherwise it's going to be a routine and not only the VIP's some day any body will be attacked.

Yes! certainly steps shall be taken.

The “Rule of Law” came into existence only to the concern of the society has a whole. As such every status, act, rules, regulations etc. were enacted only for healthy society.

Where ever any act, statute, rules, regulations, customs, usages, actions etc., are against to the society and it effects to the society or harms to the society or gives negative impact upon the society, then there shall be a remedy/control over such negative impact and shall be penalized to give-up aforementioned incidence.

Yes Mr. Prakash it is becoming like a menace, in a recent news, someone threw shoes at Advani also, in India it is becoming more and more and as elections are nearing by people are doing it deliberately and such acts should be condemned and should punish the person, such that incidents like these can be avoided in future, and it will also have an impact on youngsters and children who are watching.
