Should toostep remove 'Thumbs down' option?

whether to remove or keep it - It doesn't really matter.

They already know that we are a bunch of jokers....

Instead of thumb down ,person not liking the comment/argument/answer etc. should have the choice not to thumb down ,but should be allowed to post his comments/argument/answer etc.because everyone becomes moderator and authority.

Only thumbs up provision should be kept operative.

Any one passing illegal, unparliamentary comments  should be debarred from membership or should be suspended for 1-6 months ,depending on their -ve marking made by the person commented upon.

 

it should not be stopped, but i feel this provision should be to allowed to those members whose contribution to toostep is somoe what significant... i mean lets not wait for the comments from the passers by... though every one starts from scratch... but i think by doing so toostep simulteneously can increase participation from members and can gain real asset value too..... "no thumb down plz"

TOO STEP is a platform wherein participants can debate on various ideas. Every one has a right to hold his opinion & convey the same with his respective logic. This has to respected as many times there are no one point solution.The debater is never adjudged winner or loser just because people do not agree to his point of view. Apparently this also doen't affect his scoring. As per my understanding... the problem with TOO STEP is its "POINTS" scoring which is connected with " THUMS UP" or " THUMS DOWN" responses of the viewers. As fairly every one wants to score as much POINTS as possible.. they get aggravated when their score drops due to " THUMS DOWN" responses.

A thumbs down has to fuel a need to understand the persons argument BETTER!! A thumbs up will always restores the persons trust in himslef for giving or suggesting a BETTER thought. These additives are purely a form of gratification for the commenter and the action if committed should always be taken in a positive manner.

For the record I have been probably awarded at least 50+ thumbs down so far but I believe that I have never even looked at the profile of the person who did the action. I have just told myself that maybe my thought was wrong and I moved on....

The ratings is something which is solely given by the reader and the commenter. No control there at all. Points do not make you the most desired expert at all. So by being here and getting these so called expert badges you are not qualified to earn better or get desired job. These comments here are to be used by you for looking up and referring to basis only. Its a shame that people are using these as weapons to prove some points that are non existent. Its at times very antagonising when people like chiller comment maliciously about others when they do not even know the person from Adams'... Its ridiculous. I would still opt for the thumbs up / down to be a specific feature of the platform!!

I support that we should have a thumbs down button.  Whenever I have received a thumbs down, I have tried to look at the person's profile and understand why he thumbed me down.  Most such effort has given me interesting insight to understand the person.  

I believe thumps down or thumps ok is only an option to agree or disagree with the person's view or arguement and nothing against the person. If people take this in a right way things would be different.

Infact, while I posted this question, I was not expecting any hot talks here. The idea of removing thumbs down was for 2 reasons.

1) To keep all the family members happy and in good spirits.

2) When there is an option of 'support/oppose' at the bottom of the IDEA/Debate, a special 'thumbs down' would not be required. Moreover, when you click 'oppose' button, it would immediately open a dialogue box, where the person posting is asked for comment/arguement. A good feature, indeed.

Anyway, I feel sorry for the people being hurt due to this question and answer session. Meanwhile, one good thing that has happened is, in spite of hot talks, there was no 'thumbs down' to anybody by just click and go method. Thanks for viewers.

This is really sad

According to me thumbs down should only be visible when there are 8-9 thumbs down.

Means when the comment is pathetic..
