Due to the advent of 20-20, test cricket(5 days game) is becoming less view. Do you think we should stop it and conduct only 50overs and 20overs?

I agree that all forms of cricket are basically time pass and should be played when we have nothing else to do,main concentration should be on Olympic sports, let's not forget that cricket's not the most popular game, even in England, where the attendance at a club football game in 2nd division in England is higher than test/one-day/20-20 matches involving national team.If you look closely at the crowds of these test matches in England,it is mostly composed of expatriates,NRI's and people of South Asian region settled in England. So,my dear friends,we are making a mountain out of a molehill, that's cricket in the world of sports, where less than a dozen countries take it seriously and only half of that take it passionately, which is South Asia.Only we South Asians are breaking our head, wasting our time, discussing it ad nausem over these fora, while Michael Phelps,Ryan Lochte rake in gold medals at World swimming championships,UAE thrash India 5-2 in World cup football qualifiers etc

I believe Test cricket is the only cricket in true sense rest of the forms, like 20-20 is just Baseballised version of cricket. I have no doubt that the purest form of cricket will never die but I have serious questions about one dayers ability to maintain popularity in this era of 20 - 20

Thanks,Ayan for referral. The gentleness of cricket is in its application. There is no doubt it is purely a time pass. You can trace similar passe in India.Kite flying started during monsoon when almost all forms of activities come to standstills. Now the cricket has attained the status of 'magma',the reverse googly is of no use.

For how long will we adore a stupid time killing and un-sporty game? It is time to put a ban on all types of cricket and concentrate on other better sports and games.

After the emergence of limited overs cricket, we are left with only handful of players around the world to handle this very tiring game for five days - most of the time end up without result. Its time to think of focussing on limited overs cricket only.

There cant be any argue which is the purest and true form of Cricket. Ofcourse - its TEST Cricket.

Its Good that other forms (T20) is getting much highlighted and well marketed as well but that does not mean we should curb the real form.

One could watch Rahul Dravid in ongoing Tests B/w India & England and could find the real beauty of test Cricket. One will also get the fact and real answer for the above query.

One can doubt/argue over Mathew Hayden's comment - that T20 is killing the real skills & technique (as it depends upon player/s who choose/take T20 for just hitting or using his better skill/s or variety and to improve upon) but one can't doubt his test innings and his technique/s or Brian Lara's or our own The wall...The God of Cricket....!!

ye think so,dont know whether to stop or not but the things have been kind of carried to suite the commercial interests rather than the evolution of the different aspects of sport itself, i believe there are things to rework on in the cricket.
