Questions arose recently across several of managerial members’ mind where high-level executives share best practices and pragmatic advice – regarding the recent BP oil spill crisis. Members discussed asked how they thought the CEO of BP is handling this situation and would they want to be the CEO of BP? As a consultant, what would be your pitch to decision-makers at BP? And finally, do you think the right communications plan can help BP survive this crisis?

“I would not want to be the CEO of BP. If I were, my first move should be to start a root cause analysis. Concurrent to that, I’d determine how to pull in the ‘best and the brightest’ to solve this problem, a multi-dimensional team – not just engineers. Involve scientists and marine biologists, too. Create a challenge for college students to respond to the crisis in an interactive and dynamic, real-time manner.”
