Recruitment Consultants are facing tough times, but Job Portals are doing pretty well

Also, recruitment consultants get a good chance to choose the best candidates, as they have a better choice now. Situations are not totally freezed but of course slowed down

The Best always survives!

According to me, not only for recession time, but in normal time also, recruitment consultants should convert into Management Consultants, offering services in HR, training, management training, counselling, legal matters, services for starting new industries etc. Recruitment should be just one of their services. This will enhance their survival rate in all weathers.

Priyanka i definitely agree with your point but i would also say that most of the companies are not just firing people to cut the costs, they are firing those employees who are in no way an asset to the compnay. In this way only those will survive who are able to utilize their skills and knowledge to contribute to the organisation. And i think its fair enough on company's part to retain those employees who they think are best of the lot & who will help the company to achieve its goals.

I feel the competion will get hot and thats good as well coz I have felt in past that recruitment was taken just as a business of finding a profile from job site and calling the person to come up or take a telecon...

"I am not saying that all recruiters do so but I have encountered many like those"

Now the openeing that we will see will be more specfic and co's will do a better filtering and tough IV.
