Several Roles can be played. Telecom can only focus on voice or data or both. Typically a Telecom person would take care of managing phone, voice mail and call center systems for either one location or multiple location. In most cases Telecom person also takes care of Telecom billing for voice and data circuits. One will also design and implement call center routings and 800 numbers. On the data side of this position it involves site to site connectivity and working with routers and layer 3 devices. it can also involes programming and running reports on data analysis.
