I am going to select HR as my major in 3rd semester. as like in finance are there any courses or certificates which would help us in making up a good CV?
Hi Amruta I am a finance professional but i do have a very good experience of corporate HR culture and have a good no of HR friends & a few HR top notchs as well. So far as my advise goes you need not do any additional course in HR. Instead prepare yourself thouroughly for the campus interview well in advance. Gather all the material from the net and library about clearing the interview. Once you get a job any way you will get hands on experience about HR.
Along wih it you must read some books to become a sought after HR professional. The 1st one is How to win friends and influence people by the all time great author Dale Carnegie. This book will teach you a lot about man management skills and relationships.
2nd Body Language by Allan Peace. with this you will be able to read peoples mind by their facial expressions, body movements, sitting postures and many a subtle signs. People will be amazed by your ability.
3rd Evolutionary Psychology: a bigginers guide by Robin Ian Mcdonald Dunbar. this book will tell you about human behaviour, evolution of human behaviour and many more fascinating facts.
Let me know if you need any other assistance. All the best
