working on the clean energy.....so wanted to go through survey of what is the present scenerio....thats y i m here and asking u all professionals this simple question.....hope i will get my answer as quickly as possible....
- Politicians often interfere in the management of power utilities and create obstacle in its growth & development.
- Consumers who are used to low prices resist change as they do not foresee the future benefits and its utility.
- Widespread non-payment of electricity bills leads to down fall of economic growth.
- Corruption of departmental personnels from Tendering stage, Project Execution and at bill finalization stages.
There are few points which may be taken into consideration:
1.Taxation of govt. which may be reviewed.
2.Decision to provide natural gas, nafta, liquid etc to generating station at cheap rate, with shortest root, with less govt tax to all the generating power plants.
3.We have technology of Atomic power plant but due to lack of knowledge, political wasted interested we can not install it at present position say like project jaitapur in konkan,so if there is less power and more demand there rise in trading at more rate which reflect in higher price band of state electricity utilities.
4.The higher rate for wind mill energy is given by MERC say 3.5 to 4.00 inr per kwh, while generating cost is 10paisa to 50paisa per unit which reflect the price band of state electricity utilities. Secondly govt is giving the wind mill oweners tax benefits for several years. Why generating comapny and ntpc not purchasing this tiny wind mill units as they are exist in large numbers.
My dear friend there large number of points if think it deeply. Lastly i like to say that think that how can we get electricity at cheap rate so that loading of expenditure of state electricity utilities will not make the rate of electricity at higher rate.
This are the points coming to my mind:
- Lack of proper subsidy management (as higher-income groups in fact appropriate most of the benefits since the subsidy is applied to the price of electricity within a given consumer-category, indifferently to the individual level of income)
- Politicians often interfere in the management of power utilities
- Consumers who are used to low prices resist change
- Widespread non-payment of electricity
