Mobile Phone users are annoyed with the commercial messages being sent to their phones without consent. I am sure everyone is experiencing this. Sometimes we receive calls when accessed play a prerecorded message regarding the Mobile Company’s promotional campaigns or some other commercial message of no relevance at all. In the present age when Companies do Consent Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction, by keeping them in comfort, what should this strategy be called?  No attention is paid to the users’ repeated requests to stop sending such messages. What can be done to prevent such unsubscribed communication?

It is possible to develop and incorporate a s/w application in the mobile phone by whcih one can bar access of messages except those sent to us from a list of mobile numbers created by us in our mobile phone.

In addition to above, every message originated from companies and others of commercial purpose shall contain a specific signal which can be detected by the receiver's mobile and get those blocked automatically.

Another method is that all SMS and non-voice calls shall be routed via exclusive messaging gateways so that the mobile users can be provided 'selective barring of incoming message' feature.

There is feature known as User-to-User signalling by which the end user authorisation can be automatically sought before delivery of a message.

Another suggestion: Ok, let the commercial companies and phone serrvice providers make money, but let us also have a share of it. I suggested this in one of my posting in this space of identical nature. That is, for the commercial companies and service providers using our phone,  time and effort, it should be legally bound for the phone companies to share the revenue they generate from commerrcial SMS, DATA and Multimedia messages that are send to our phone.

The key issue here is that every Mobile Service Provider is looking forward to 3G to make money from commercial multi media transactions. With users objection about unsolicitted messages, the business viability of 3G is a matter of great concern for them. Naturally, the mobile phone service providers would be reluctant to invest to develop applications that may be detrimental to their business interest unless TRAI and the Government put thier foot down and make them do it.

I have suggested these and many other ideas like Mobile Money Manager etc., 10 years back while I was associated with the Industry.  Some Mobile phone s/w developers can look into these and develop application for these product ideas.

Including me many of our friends have tried this. Except for one acknowledgement which we received within minutes of sending the message, no result is seen even after months.

Yes mam, This is a very tough for us. But only solution is that "Do Not Disturb" policy from Telephone Regularity Authority Of India. To activate this service, consumer need to send a toll free sms like "START DND" to 1909 and this service will be activated after 45 working days. Coz consumer`s number will be added in national do not disturb list and update all regardings so it take atleast 45 working days but once consumer addopt this service then the frequency of receiving unsubscribed sms deduct frm the first day.If any consumer once listed in that list and even he received such type of sms or calls, he can claim on that company in "TRY COURT" and that company will be highly punished.

It's very simple just as your service provider to activate the DO NOT DISTURB facility,  it can be done by sending a sms and within 24 hours it'll be activated and you'll be free from all the nonsense calls.

nothing mam ... these operators can buy the database( of all the users ) for a amount ( starting from 1000/- onwards)

and as far as unsolicited calls are concerned ( if you fire the pedro once ... case is settled out of court )

i do this ... and i can relax ( other way .. switch off the phone at 8.00 pm at reactivate  it at 9.30 a.m )

another thing don't subscribe to missed calls service and never dial the messed number ..

if anybody interested he/she will call you .. again ..
