A very good question and very interesting answers.

The most interesting thing about all the answers is ALL HAVE DITCHED THE SOLE OF THE QUESTION NOBODY (YES NOBODY) WROTE THAT WHAT HE IS DOING FOR HIS/HER COUNTRY. That is remarkable.

I just do my job honestly..that is my contribution to my country...and I also contribute by way of criticism of wrong.

Nice point you have raised vishab. We always blaming that we are not getting facility or good  lifestyle, but we never think that what we can contribute for that.

As per my opinion we can do the following things to make our country TOP.

1)      Try to educate the people who is living in remote area of out county

2)      Control the population.

3)      Avoid offering bribe.

4)      Pay Tax to Government.

Every country including India has realities forming around it which affects it's citizen. Some of these realities can be deviced by man. Where human device plays a vital role in the daily activitis shaping up things I feel the government should regulate so that the a person can achieve his or her dreams. Others no one has control over and can be let alone. Leaving everything to chance is where no effort by anyone is going to make any diference. Government intervention in everything including price can lead to scarcity and misallocation of resources. When the government interferes in everything no amount of human effort is going to change anything for better. We have to attain natural order that emnate from peopel engaged in trucking goods and services and creating exchanges  will create that order automaticaly without interference like Adam Smith said. This is a big topic and I think we can discuss only the gist of the matter.

Complains come when TAXES rise!! Its a matter of acceptance and justifying the living standards. In a country like ours, when Mumbai is supposed to be one of the top 10 expensive cities, the kind of infrastructure we offer and live in is pathetic! We are tax payers and we expect that being tax payers where is the money going? Is it being used where it has to be? ... When the basic standards of living are not met, its a natural human tendency to whine and complain. It has nothing to do with a Democratic or Communist government at all!

Good point Vishab, Thanks for the referral as well.

I would not complain or criticise my country either. But yes we are all aware that we need a lot of improvements, lot of suggestions to make our country a better place and a comfortable place to live in.

My suggestion would be to provide better and more reliable public transport so that people choose to use the public transport to their own mode of transport. This will make the roads we travel less chaotic and comfortable for everyone to travel.

Nice question that you've put up here Vishab....yes we do all the complaining things like what is not right and what should be done and we discuss these things at the office and with our friends and all but at the end of the day what we have done to improove it??? is the Question everyone should ask....so no point in complaining when one has done nothing to improve it.......

If you have been long enough on this site you will notice I never discuss anything about my organisation or my country whether in the positive or negative. I may refer a thing or two based on whatever comments I am making but never will I criticise my country. I try to be a good ambassador for my country no matter where I go since my intention is to promote tourism in my country. It is a small country but very beautiful and is run by a democratic government. Of course it has problems like all other countries but once the criticisms start they try to put system in place for correction. I lead a comfortable life so why should I complain.

Thanks for the referral.
