What does A Career In Media Mean?

The career in media is not as rozy as it appears. Glamour is there, parties ar e there, but they all die down soon. Anxiety replaces excitement. U have to perform on razor's edge. Anykind of excuses are not acceptable. U have to keep performing better n better. U have to compete with yourself always. All your faculties, physical, intellectual, emotional and social have to undergo simultaneously deadline stress. It is live n happening with fierce competition from within n without the organization. Let us not be under mistaken impression of glamour n parties. It is live wire job or career.

Media means Glamor! Glamor means Fame! Fame means being seen with the Who's Who of the industry and then voila.... Your life is one hectic activity laced with champagne dinners, breakfast meetings, Power Lunches and of course mentions and snaps in the media!!

Whoaa.... Its a fast world! Its high profile. Thats the glittery part of the job. Now the sleaze;

Its a thankless job. It does not promise a good family life, it makes you do things that you wouldnt normally do (corrupt people for info, grease palms of law to ensure 'breaking news' etc) and last but not the least it means to be immoral at times!!

All in all its exciting, depressing (long hours), Its fun and its sad (no family life etc), its powered and it is also a backbreaker!!

A Career in media means high profile job, interacting with personalities, excitement, energy, parties........ Doesn't this sound like a dream world..?? It is actually a dream world but there is other side to it also like hardwork, sleepless nights, quick thinking and responding and at the same time people don't have a good image about media persons..Sometimes it also calls for danger to life too...
