what is important for branding item, sex or good prouduct n why?

The main question is what is the strength of the market you want to target? We all talk about the good quality Vs. product branding by sex but we need to consider the fact that it depends on the product as well as targeted market.

If the product is for mass then you can not reach each and everyone by having branding by sex as a strategy ... there u need to have a good product with the equally perfect branding and marketing strategy about the product's qualities to convenience the mass.

I agree with meena. Quality should be there always,then only the company  can take that product to the customers with lots of confident and promote.

And the main thing is,presentation..hw we are presenting the product...With nice packing,the way we explain about the product,addvertisement etc.,

The quality can be justified after consuming...before that????

For any brand to survive in the longrun quality is important. QUALITY CAN MAKE THE CUSTOMER TO COME BACK TO THE BRAND.bRANDING BY SEX CAN INITIALLY DRAW SOME SECT OF CUSTOMERS BUT QUALITY RETAINS . TO DRAW THE ATTENTION OF THE AUDIENCE OR CUSTOMER SEX IS NOT THE ONLY  CROWS PULLER REFERENCE BY CELEBRITIES,QUALITIESYOF THE PRODUCTS, CAN ALSO HELP.  

Nothing can be an alternative for good quality product. Any product which has been promoted on the strength of Sex may work for some time. But in the long run, it will become a flop since its quality won't be good. So, quality should be given first preference...
